Community Server 2007 BlogML Converter

This control helps you to import your blog content from another blogging tool which supports BlogML standard to CommunityServer 2007 or vice versa.

BlogML is a universal format for blogs content which is being developed to help bloggers to move between blogging tools easily. A blogging tool is BlogML support when it has both Reader and Writer tools for it.

I wrote this converter to help users migrate to/from Community Server 2007. This converter is compatible with BlogML 2.0.

Please first go to Readme.txt and read it carefully. It has full instructions and notes for installation. Full source code is provided and you can modify it for your own needs.

CSMetaBlog LiveWriter Plugin

This is a plugin for Microsofts LiveWriter tool. It will allow you to set the post name and create new tags from within LiveWriter.

For it to work, you will need to add the MetaBlogExtender CSModule found here to your site.

Snitz to CS 1.0 forums migrator tool

This is a web-based tool that will migrate your Snitz forums to CS 1.0 forums.

If you want to migrate to a newer CS version, you will need to migrate to 1.0 first then upgrade your CS version with the official CS upgrade tools.

Notes:

You MUST read the readme and follow what is written in there.
Please note that the migrator will migrate from snitz SQL database.
If you have forums set as moderated in Snitz, you will have to approve all the posts in there after the migration in CS. This is true even if for some reason in Snitz the moderation had no effect! So if you are missing some posts after migration, look in the moderation section.
Calculate about a 10x size increase in the database.
After starting, you can stop the migration only by stopping IIS or the website, as the migration is done in the background by a web service, and not by the client.
If you want to start again, start from a clean install as the migrator does not do differential migration.

Known issues (apart from the ones in the readme):

If the original database has integrity problems, the migrator may break down - so check where it stopped and then check in the original database.
The larger the original database, the more the migration will slow down in the process. For about 20000+ posts (may vary heavily depending on other factors) the migrator web-page will time out during the post migration phase. The migration WILL continue in the background, which you can check by looking at the database size or post count.
After the migration completes, please wait to get the post count displayed correctly on the frontpage to avoing seeing cached numbers.

Forums 2.0.x to CS 1.0 Migration Tool

This is the latest version of a CS Community/Telligent migration tool that can be used to migrate Forums 2.0.x data to Community Server 1.0. The converter was written by CBR (Mario Sobral) and also includes some input from ScottW and others.

This ASP.NET page can be placed into a CS site and will display information about the background jobs that Community Server depends on for things like sending email. You will need to remove the .txt file for the page to function properly on your site.

DotText-CS-Converter is a conversion program to convert all .Text v0.95 content to Community Server 1.1. It converts users, weblogs, posts, articles, comments, trackbacks, referrals, view counts, links, and categories. It will also convert .Text image galleries to Community Server galleries.
