Wikipedia Link Module (CS2007)

This is the updated Wikipedia Link Module for CS2007. It allows users to use text parts to link words or phrases to pop-ups containing additional information from Wikipedia.

The CS2007 version has been updated to better support use within forum posts.

The download includes a pre-compiled binary as well as the source code. See the included readme.txt file for more information.

CS Twitter Module (2007 RC1 or RTM)

Enables new blog posts to automatically update your Twitter status. Installation is as easy as dropping a .dll in the /bin folder.

CodeHighlight CSModule for CS v2007 RTM

In order to install the CodeHilight CSModule under Community Server - this CSModule works only with CS v2007 RTM - in order to download a CS v2007 RC1 version of the component get "CodeHighlight CSModule for CS v2007 RC1":

Step 1:
In communityserver.config, replace the line

Customize your installation:
The HTML code produced is surrounded with the HTML code in CodeWrapperHTML setting, and if the option to include line numbers is included - setting UseLineNumbers - then the HTML code in NumberWrapperHTML is used.

Use of [code][/code] tags:
In order to use the code highlighting in your posts use the tags [code language="C#"][/code] in a post's body. Languages supported: ASPX, C, C++, C#, COBOL, Eiffel, Fortan, Haskell, HTML, Java, Javascript, Mercury, MSIL, Pascal, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, SQL, Visual Basic, VBScript, VB.NET, XML. Make sure that the code pasted in your post, has no previous formating - copy the code to notepad first and then to the post's body in order to remove formating.

In order to make the HTML rendering, the CSModule uses the Highlight library of Thomas Johansen and Christian Nordbakk.

Moderated Forum Posts Notifications

This CSModule enables you to get e-mail notifications to moderators for forum posts that are not approved. If they are caught by a spam rule or for some other reason are not approved they end up in Control Panel -> Forums Moderation.

This CSModule sends e-mail to your moderators of a forum when a post is not approved, it uses a built-in email template from the languages folder for that.

CSModule template for Visual Studio 2005 (C#)

This is a Visual Studio Project Template that I created, with a base line code for creating a new CSModule to Community Server 2.1 (ASP .NET 2.0). Just copy the contents of this zip file to a directory (i.e. create a CSModuleBase folder) under your Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates directory.

The next time you choose to create a new project in Visual Studio, click on the 'C#' root at the left, and the template should be seen under 'My Templates'.

Note: You need to add a reference to CommunityServer.Components.DLL in the new project you create!

Also note: I am not a C# developer. I created this template in C# as well since I have gotten some requests for it. So let me know if there should be any changes in the template.

External Tag Links CSModule (CS 2.1 ASP .NET 2.0)

UserCreateAudit (CS2.1, ASP .NET 2.9)

A CSModule for auditing creation of users. Current version writes to the eventlog who created the user.

Future version are planned to audit other evens such as who logged in from which IP adress, and also a system fo forcing pasword change for users after a configurable time.

MSN SoapBox CS Module (CS 2.1, ASP .NET 2.0)

CSSoapBox is a CSModule for Community Server 2.1 that enables you to embed MSN SoapBox videos into your Community Server Blogs and Forums.

Included in zip is a readme.txt that explains installation.

Enables you to customize the message that is seen in syndicated feeds, and disables video functionality in blog comments. If you downloaded and installed an earlier version before oct 7, just download again and replace the current DLL in you BIN folder. You might need to touch web.config for it to work.

Update: This download has been updated to 2.1. The 2.1 update now includes a configuable ShareIt module
Update 2: This download has been updated again. It now include a ASP.NET 1.1 compiled version and an update to help ensure valid encodings.
Update 3: Added a YouTube module which lets you quickly add you video's from YouTube to posts. This is only in the ASP.NET 2.0 version.
Update 4: Updated the MetaBlogExtender to support "tags" instead of just categories and fixed an issue with post naming.

This is the first release of my personal CSModule pack.

This version includes the following modules:

The modules come pre-compiled with simple (I hope) set up instructions. The full source code for each of them is also included.

I wrote a little calendar module, that adds a calendar to the toolbar, and lets you tag your posts so their titles show on a community calendar for your site...

it also has a freetextbox wrapper with an integrated popup date picker, this feature was a last minute adder, and only really works for USA dates, and is probably not appropriate for large sites....

I will work on providing a better wrapper for the calendar picker button, and will probably make adding a post to the calendar require moderate permissions... The source for this control will also be made public when I can get it cleaned up.

Update 02.03.2006 : Note there was an error in the originally included communityserver.merge.config which had the wrong namespace for the CSModule... the correct module registration would be

Update 02.21.2006 : I rebuilt the calendar module to update the Component Art control reference to match that of the CS 2.0 RTM; I also included ASPNET 2.0 versions of the binaries (in the bin\framework2 folder) these should only be used with CS installs that were compiled under VS2005.

Update 04.24.2006 : I fixed a permissions glitch which would cause an error if the calendar tried to display a post the user didnt have access to. I added a new CSModule, AdminCalendarLink, which only adds administrative posts to the calendar. I also made a new job and module, which adds users birthdays from their profile to the calendar.

Update 05.01.2006 : I forgot to put the latest Calendar.dll in the bin\framework2 folder... I updated the zip, you need to make sure the dll is 2.0.60424 or higher to work with asp.net 2

Update 05.24.2006 : Fixed support for adding file gallery items onto the calendar. Updated Admin calendar link to use current user not post author for the permissions check. Update the calendar/default.aspx to use applicaiton paths not relative ones for the stylesheet
