When a new posts is added, CS does refresh the Cache, however in multiple web server senarios this may not always work as expected as CS has a unique cache per server, and each webserver is unable to affect the cache of the other server.

Community Server 2007 cacheing

Hi

In CS2007, is the post cacheing bound to database?, i.e. if some of the records in cached data change in database, then does the cache get updated?

I general, can someone explain to me how chacheing works community server 2007?

Generally it takes approx. 10 min. to update cache, and this is in C.S 2008. I am not sure about C.S 2007.

CS2008 does not support multiple communities in a single database. You can either use the groups feature *or* use shared membership to use the same user accounts accross multiple installations of Community Server.
2. Can anyone create Group or only a user with Administrator access can create a Group?
By default, only system administrators can create groups. This can be modified in the Group Administration Control Panel.
3. What is the difference between Discussions under Group and Discussions under Forum. Is it correct to say that all registered users can view and answer discussions under Forum section while only group memebers can answer the discussion under the group.
Yes. The group's forums are generally only usable by the group's members. Some of the specific permissions related to forums in groups is described here: http://getben.com/archive/2008/05/05/community-server-2008-groups-overview.aspx
4. Is it possible to VOTE on a discussion? If yes, what is the out-of-box option for voting? The requirement of business is there are 3-types of voting per discussion: Customer Impact, Technology Complexity and Benefit with each voting type a 5-point scale. Is this something that needs to be customised?
Forum threads support ratings and a forum post can include an optional poll. But I don't know that either of these features are what you're looking for. If they're not, you'd need to implement this support via custom code.
5. Can you delete a discussion if you created it? What about deleting a comment if you created it?
Generally, if users are granted delete permissions and the post does not have any replies, they are able to delete their own posts.

Test By Skunk in Groups

Test By Skunk in Groups asdfdf adf

Re: facebook apps

Great question, I was wondering that myself.
