Hi there,
When i run the upgrade wizard all is fine until it reaches the final stage in the process where images get moved, i get an error that says the image UNC is too long >260 characters. The longest UNC i can find (C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\The-Port\CommunityServer\Web\photos\cache\1000.93.1064.Harrisburg Motorshow 28 Jan 2007_56 - www.portsidetwd.com - www.the-port.co.uk.jpg.secondarythumb.jpg) is 175 chars?
Thanks
Not sure if your just reporting this or need some help?

The wizard falls over and then i get the "Oops something went wrong" when i try to load the site, have tried it twice now with the same problem, any help would be awesome, thanks
If the upgrade was successful, the "Oops" error is most likely related to loading an old theme (such as the default theme... which was renamed to "calypso"). If you download and install the final 2008 release, it should correct this issue.
I have the same issue with the upgrade utility, when it gets to the last step (move existing files into centralized storage):
"An error occurred during the upgrade process:
The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.
Check the log file for details."
I use database storage for my old site. I tried moving my website to C:\ to shorten the path, but I still get the error. Any suggestions?
Resolved:
I moved the directory containing the upgrade utility itself closer to the root (C:\CS2008_4.0.30414.1743.upgrade\CSUpgrader) and the problem went away
We'll add something in the upgrade notes about being aware of possible long paths for filenames and folders. In this case, we'll note that it might be a good idea to run the upgrade tool from the root drive.
Thanks guys,
I moved the upgrader to the root... though the update got a little further ist failed with the same error, so i created a share of my community server web directory and then mapped a network drive to it, i then selected the mapped drive when asked to browse to the community server instance.
This time it worked,
