Hello! I'm nearly ready to purchase CS, but have thought of a questions.
Basically, I'm going to have one single blog with my company's news included in it. Can we assign categories to each post like you can in Wordpress? Can people search posts by category?
Also, can we make the blog multi-author, i.e. have more than one author and users can view blog entries by author as well as categoty, month, etc?
Finally (and probably the trickiest) we are going to have multiple RSS feeds with news on various subjects availabel for us to use. How do I get these into the site? BAsically, I was thinking of having a news page, with various sub pages, each containing a feed. So for example:
News
-1 (feed1.xml)
-2 (feed2.xml)
and so on.
What's the best way to go about this?
Many thanks,
Daniel
would like to see a reply to this post too... thanks
Just to update it. I've been using blog mirroring to grab incoming feeds and store them in CS2007. My main challenge is organising these in a way that is easy to use.
My plan (if my amateur coding skills can move up a notch) is to have a drop down menu, with links to each of the blogs (each blog has one incoming feed mirrored).
My biggest gripe is that the tags from the incoming feeds only seem to show the source of the individual posts. To expand on that, each of the posts coming into the site are news articles - therefore each feed is a bunch of news articles from various sources - newspares, blogs, websites. The tags consists of things such as "Daily Mail", "Jum's blog", "USA Today", etc. Not sure if it's a problem with the actual feeds, rather than CS2007.
Give me a shout if you want any more information on what I'm doing.
All the best,
