I would like to customize the footer in my CS 2007 site and I need some advice. Before I upgraded to CS 2007 I could customize my site's footer by doing the following:

  • Edit the Themes/Default/Masters/Master.aspx page.
  • Hide the original footer control.
  • Add a ContenPart control statement for the new footer.

That approach doesn't work for CS 2007 because there isn't a Themes/Default/Masters/Master.aspx page anymore!

Does anyone know how to create a custom footer in CS 2007?

codegator,

You can find the footer section in the master.master file.  This is located in the themes/themename/common directory with the themename being whatever theme you are editing.  At the bottom of the master.master file you will see <div id="CommonFooter">

The edits can be done here.  Hope that helps ya!

Sincerely,

Tom

Thanks for the reply Tommyweather. For some reason I missed that file when I looked in the Common folder. I must have had my blinders on. :-(

 Thanks again.
