I don't know if there is anyone else out there that has anticipated the realease of community server 2007 as much as i did. I live in a different part of the world and becuase of the difference in our time zones i got to get my hands on the express version on Tuesday Morning.Telligent and it's unique team of developers have created the best release of community server.
But anyways i have got some questions i want to ask.

1. Are there any limitations to the number of times i can download a demo license.

2. I would like to create a new page, and i would like to call it developers and on this page i only want to display the avatars, website and blog links of certain users in a certain role. Now i know that it would not be hard to implement but the problem lies with ... How do i display the avartars of certain users in a certain role on the page.

3- I would also like to have links to a blog post that will allow usres to Digg or bookmark a blog post. Now how do  i go about implementing that.

4. I have an exact copy of my website on my local machine but i can sign in with both of my admin account. Is there some kind of web service authentication now?

CS Developers

1) Are you talking about requesting a single demo and downloading it multiple times or requesting multiple demos?  There are no limits to how many times you can download a license of a single request.  No matter how many times you download it, it will expire in 30 days anyway.  Requesting multiple downloads is something that is frowned upon.  We get an email anytime someone requests a demo, so someone could eventually notice the abuse.

2 & 3) These would best be asked in a forum like "Coding for Community Server" or doing some searching.  Adding a digg link has been done by a number of people and could likley be found by searching.  Adding avatar/role related code would actually be coding, so you could likely get some pointers, but would be best to look into the CS API and download the SDK release of CS.

4) I'm not quite sure what you mean by this.  There is no authentication web service.  Could you please clarify, as I don't know what you are talking about when refering to both your admin accounts.  If your local system has the same DB as your live website, it has the same users/passwords, so you could certianly log in as the same users.

Hi Ken, Thanks for your reply.

4. What i meant was i couldn't sign in with any of my admin accounts. I have looked in to the database and everything seems to be ok reagarding the users and the roles associated with them.

The problem is it redirects me back to the the defualt page after i hit sign in. I don't know if these might be a bug or something.

This is really wierd but  finally got around it. All it did was to replace all the binaries and i recompiled it to make it work. Wink
