Featured Item Box on all pages?

I would like to use the featured item box in other areas of the site.  How would i enable the featured item box to display conent in blogs side menu / forums side menu's etc.

First before you do any modifications, make sure you have a backup copy of each file you edit.  If you make a mistake, simply put a copy of the old file back. 

In the theme you are using go to the blogs folder and edit the blogs.Master file in something like Notepad.  Add the following line

     <CSControl:ContentPart ContentName="featured" runat="server" ContentCssClass="CommonContentPartBorderOff" ContentHoverCssClass="CommonContentPartBorderOn" />

You probably would add this to the CommonSidebar div above the Tag Cloud control.

You would do the same for forums folder of your theme, editing the forums.Master.

Hi There, I have tried the above without success. What am i missing? Do i need to register the control on the page as well? I am using CS 2007
