Hi,

I have some problems with building / running the CS 2.1 SDK from Visual Studio 2005. Here are the steps i made:

  1. Download the actual Zip Archive and unpacked it
  2. Opened the "Community Server ASPNET20.sln"
  3. Set "CommunityServerWeb20 (Internal)" as StartUp Project
  4. Error while building: The web server could not be found.
  5. Solution: Changed the Properties of "CommunityServerWeb20 (Internal)" (Web / Servers /) to "Use Visual Studio Development Server)
  6. Error: After building some assemblies (membership) could'nt be found.
  7. Solution: Copied the files in "ASP.NET2_configs" to "web".
  8. Error: A stored procedure could not be found.
  9. Solution: Executing the whole query in "SqlScripts/cs_2.1_CreateFullDatabase.sql"
  10. Error: {"Der Typeninitialisierer für CommunityServer.Components.UrlReWriteProvider hat eine Ausnahme verursacht."} what means in English something like "TypeInitializationException: CommunityServer.Components.UrlReWriteProvider caused an exception"
  11. NO SOLUTION :( :(

Do you have an idea?

Cheers,
Philipp

Hi Dave,

Thank you! I just made it until page 61 but now I get an error again:

" Parserfehlermeldung: Die Datei oder Assembly CommunityServer.ASPNet20MemberRole oder eine Abhängigkeit davon wurde nicht gefunden. Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden."

what means something like "The file or assembly CommunityServer.ASPNet20MemberRole ... could not be found. The system can't find the given (?) file."

I've copied the config files...

Any idea?

I had to change some things in the IIS to get this workint until this point:

  • Type the correct Path to source\Web
  • Add "default.aspx" to documents
  • Select 2.0.50727 as ASP.NET-Version

Cheers,
Philipp

Hi Philipp,

Can you check that the file CommunityServer.ASPNet20MemberRole.dll is present in the \bin folder ?.  It should be put there when you build the SDK.  If not you could try downloading the web install version from this site and copying the contents of the bin folder from the downloaded zip file to your sites bin folder.

Regards

Dave
