Archiving Blogs?

On of the more annoying aspects of managing a site that's been around for a while is having to wade through a huge list of blogs to manage the site. I'm sure my problem is not as bad as blogs.msdn.com, but it's still a pain. Is there any way to mark a blog as "Archived", that way people can still get to it, but you can filter it out of the management list? It would also be nice if marking it "Archived" would add a message to the RSS feed and the blog itself saying that the blog was abandoned and is no longer being updated.

Being able to do the same for Galleries might be helpful too.
