Email notification upon new post to any blog

For a community I would like to activate the following option: 

Whenever some content is added to the community (forum or blogs) all users should be send an email, at least for now.

This will greatly increase site activity (my site is not public so it will not be considered spam, just a reminder for the members to visit the community).

I have not seen an answer to this question yet, therefore I decided to ask it again.

I believe there needs to be some programming to do this. There is a SetSectionSubscriptionType method in the namespace CommunityServer.Components.CommonDataProvider that seems to be able to do this.
