Hi,

I'm a member of the Board of Trustees for a Condo Homeowners' Association and I have been evaluating online community portal solutions to assist us in facilitating knowledge sharing, collaboration/participation, and community building.

Some of the solutions that I have examined include One Community and ReadyPortal.   Community Server, though, seems to have more up-front, reasonable pricing as a hosted solution.  Its technical architecture also seems to be very open, stable, maintainable and extensible.

There are a few features, though (see below), that I see in other community portal software offerings that I have yet to see included in Community Server's feature list.

Does anyone know if any of the following features is planned for a future version of CS?  If not, does anyone know if such features are/will be available as plug-ins to the existing or a future CS architecture?

  • Calendars and Events
  • Surveys and Survey Analysis
  • News (External RSS Aggregation, Community-specific news items)
  • Submission / Tracking of Online Service Requests
  • Live Chat

Thanks in advance,

Mike

MVPs
  • There is at least one third-party event calendar application in development at present.
  • Live Chat is available from CuteSoft, I believe.
  • RSS Aggregation is already supported via Mirrored blogs

It would be good to have some sort of classified ad support.

Cheers
