"Next time automatically sign me in" seems to do nothing

This was originally a webhost4life.com install that technically worked, but I've never been able to upgrade. I believe it's v1.1 - although any upgrade scripts I would try to run would die with hundreds of errors.

It's never really run right (just a few small things that are quirky), but this particular error is annoying more of my users.

On the login page, the checkbox for "Next time automatically sign me in" seems to do nothing. Where do I begin to troubleshoot this? Any ideas? Thanks

This is usually caused by the browser's cookiee config, or there is something set in CS, that is playing up.  Usually the domain setting in CS's administration
