I installed CS 2.0 to my server. My server has an domain name of www.xiefang.com and hippy.3322.org.

I can access my site by hippy.3322.org, localhost and IP address, but I can't open it using www.xiefang.com

I have already run cs_system_addnewurl and when run cs_site_getsiteurls I can see www.xiefang.com. Why I can't access the site?

Did you add the host headers to the site in IIS? It cant find the site when I try to browse it which means it doesn't know where to go.

Dear all,

It's too strange.

I didn't add any host header to the IIS, which means that the site should work on any URL request. However, I found that:

If I use http://localhost, it works.

If I use http://hippy.3322.org (another free dynamic domain name I registered), it works

If I use http://61.171.17.136 (my dynamic ip add), it works

If I use http://xiefangsvr (the WINS machine name), it works

But if I use http://www.xiefang.com, the error message is "The page cannot be displayed", a common IE error message.

I checked the DNS name resolution by using PING and NSLOOKUP, it translate the domain name to IP address correctly.

I also tried to add a host header but it does not work also.

Dear all, please help.

The Wizard:
Did you add the host headers to the site in IIS? It cant find the site when I try to browse it which means it doesn't know where to go.

The Wizard:

I have added the host header, but it does not help.

Please note that without host header, I can visit the site using hippy.3322.org (another free dynamic domain name), ip address, server WINS name. But it only does not work with top domain name www.xiefang.com while the dns resolution works fine. Moreover, if I visit http://www.xiefang.com/error.htm, it also works. The problem only happen to the CS

I ran cs_system_addnewurl but it does not help.

Those sites are on 2 different IP's.  Are both of these on the web server?
