  • Re: Wizard Fails on Image UNC length

I have the same issue with the upgrade utility, when it gets to the last step (move existing files into centralized storage): "An error occurred during the upgrade process: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the...

  • Could not load type 'CommunityServer.Data.MediaGallerySqlDataProvider'

Using the Web Installer, I've upgraded my database twice. My first pass took a few tries to get everything setup correctly, but then I restored the database and re-ran the migration. Currently, my website doesn't come up. It just shows the followinng error. I've searched the forums for references...

  • Filestorage folder permissions

Before putting CS2008 into production, I want to update a few internal sites first to make sure we can work out all the kinks in advance. (Already discovered that we need to redo the theme. sigh ) The UpgradeNotes.txt file in the upgrade ZIP file has a rather oddly phrased final instruction: 13. Grant...

  • Could not load file or assembly Janrain.OpenId

I have been trying to upgrade to CS 2008 without success. As part of my testing I decided to do a clean install of CS 2008 rather than an upgrade - just as a temporary test. With the clean install, I'm getting this error. The Janrain.OpenId DLL is present in the bin folder. How can I resolve this...

  • New and upgraded CS 2008 databases -- missing all permissions for stored procedures

My CS 2008 database is missing all permissions for stored procedures. In the properties > permissions pane for every stored procedure I have checked, the permissions are blank. (Not even public is granted any permissions.) This is true for both a clean install as well as for my upgraded database....

  • Can't create groups after 2007->2008 upgrade: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Just upgraded from CS2007 to CS2008, the upgrade went smoothly but I'm unable to create any groups. Any ideas anyone? Here's the error: Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error...

  • Re: Can't create groups after 2007->2008 upgrade: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

After backing out a prior upgrade and re-upgrading this weekend, and fixing a few problems left over from the upgrade, I have now actually managed to create a group. However, I cannot create a second group and I cannot go into the already created group - the exception is reproduced below. Is anyone else...

  • Is the membership database from CS 2007 compatible with 2008?

I have built a group of sites using CS2007.1 Pro that share membership information in one database (~15k members) and allow users to login with the same username/password on each site (a bit like a hotmail/yahoo signin with its different products). Now we are looking at upgrading to 2008 Pro but we would...
