  • Setting up blog & forum under root of existing application

I've an ASP.Net 2.0 site (for eg: www.mydomain.com ) up and running. I've installed Community Server under CS folder of my site i.e. www.mydomain.com/cs . By doing so, I need to type www.mydomain.com/cs/forums/ for browsing my Forum and www.mydomain.com/cs/blogs/ for Blog. I just want to access...

  • Blog Archive content control

I've looked high and low through the files on my site, and I cannot seem to find the content part that produces the blog archive list that is seen at the bottom of a blog posting. Can anyone point me in the right direction, as I'm wanting to take this content control and copy it to the main page...

  • Re: The relation between sections, groups and tags

Hi Jose. Your Reply was very helpful but could you elaborate on the limited structure specifically for Blogs. I understand how groups work in terms of Membership and Permissions but not clear on how if applies to the structure of organizing content. Can you verify my definition of a few terms. Blog Aggregate...

  • NullReferenceException when each reader posts comments

I just upgraded from CS2.1 to CS2007. I didn't have the following problem prior to the upgrade. CS2007 is accepting comments, but it keeps *telling* me that there has been an error. The error messages are erroneous. The comments are being posted. I have a slew of double postings as my readers re...

  • The poor quality user features of CS

This app is poorly engineered from a customer viewpoint. Why? Let's list the limitations: 1. Simple customer request: Adding a page to the main menu! Adding a page requires edits to no less than 4 files, coding obscure variables, debugging calls to the editor, and resetting database connections to...

  • Blog Video Url attachment with surrounding quotes detrimental

In CS 2.1 SP2 if a user decides to enclose their video url in quotes then any page that tries to aggregate the post or display the post will fail on the call in the Post.cs file on public property VideoFileFormat.get() at line System.IO.Path.GetExtension(VideoUrl). Not sure why the user tried this, but...

  • Re: A Single Blog, the Easy Way

I'm really looking forward to using all these new features. I was hoping that you could explain how to setup the images folder in a little more detail. I have installed a copy of the Beta and created a blog with the key blog . This was created in the default location of Web\blogs\blog . I have downloaded...

  • Re: "An error occured while attempting to create this user" whenever a new user registers

Hey All, I just installed and configured the CS 2.1. These last weeks to see if it will run and do what I would like for it to do. All went very well untill it was put in the DMZ over here.
