Hi,

Does anyone know if the Guest Users Online count is affected by the googlebot?

I see some large spikes in that counter sometimes and I'm not sure yet what it is.

Hi Jon,

The user's online control is completely independent of google bots, so both take their readings separately.

The Users online control most definitely includes googlebot (and other search engine) visits.

Personally I'd like to see them listed as a separate Bots online, with an aggregate number/visits. But that's just me I guess.

Ryan, is there a way to have the users online control count not be affected by search engine crawlers like googlebot?  For example, at any time googlebot accounts for up to 100 guests on my site.

Off the top of my head a configurable list of user agents to ignore for users online would be a nice place to start.

I am seing that as a problem to.
It look really weird that there is so many anonymous users online, so please filter the bots from the real users..
