What's going on with database storage in cs_PostAttachments in 2008 with CFS?

I was surprised to find that files are still being written to cs_PostAttachments when users upload to the media gallery.

Why is this happening, and how can I turn it off?

We don't want the massive amount of content in this table to grow, and previously used the option to disable database storage in 2007. Based on several posts by Telligentia, I assumed database storage was gone in CS2008.
