The data store used by Community Server cannot be opened.
Please ensure that your database is online and running and that the connection string in your connectionStrings.config file is correct.
To configure your connection string:
1. Open [Install Location of Community Server]\web\connectionStrings.config
2. Within connectionStrings.config find the <connectionStrings> configuration section below:
<connectionStrings> <add
<add
name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="[Your connection string here]" /> </connectionStrings>
</connectionStrings>
3. Modify the value to properly identify your database.
For example, to connect to a database named CommunityServer on the current machine with an account csSystem and the password pa$$word12:
connectionString = "server=.;database=CommunityServer;uid=csSystem;pwd=pa$$word12"
3. How do I get rid of the Telligent livery in the Dashboard, I assumed if I bought the license this would be removed? Same goes for the help section?

Can you redownload CS2008 from http://get.communityserver.com/download/cs2008web/ and replace the files in the /bin/ of your CS install with the ones in the download

Hi
A quick anser to Q3 as I'm here...
Basically there is no interface to change the look and feel of the Control Panel. You could modify it somewhat by manually editing the files/css/layout of the pages that comprise the control panel. Personally though I have never seen the need to change it so I have never looked in to how to do it. Just guessing really!
The link behind the Help section can be changed to point somewhere else. Again not via the Admin UI but within the SiteURLs.config file if memeory serves me correctly.
HTH....partially!
Regards
For your first two problems, are you running CS2008 SP1? If not, you can download it from http://get.communityserver.com/download/cs2008sp1
Assume that I have, the install was weeks old, and seems to have the improvements in the SP1 notes
thanks for the help!
CS2008 was only released last Friday.
To check which version you're running, go to a page on your CS site, right click and click on view source. Towards the top of the file that opens, you should see something that looks like
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="..." />
the part in the content= part will tell you which version of CS you're running.
CommunityServer 2008 SP1 (Build: 30619.63) is what it says
Any ideas guys, this is really holding me back at the minute?
Unable to get a download from that location
You need to fill in the survey, and then press submit before you can download the files.
well done that man.
Spot on
