Hi There,

After my site is installed with SP1, I noticed that the site is now giving some new error...

1.       Add friend is now giving error : Value cannot be null. Parameter name: addresses ....

2.       Upload media file now giving error too: Thread was being aborted ....

 * Question: Anything missing here?

Another issue that I am facing is that the community server site was extremely slow on certain areas, this happend before and after SP1 ..

Example,

- when I post a comment on the blog post, it will takes 90 seconds to complete the comment post.

 - On the upload media file, I selected a media file (a 1KB text file), and put the Name and Description, and when I click on the Save button to save the media posting, it will takes more than 2 minutes to complete the save post.

         In version before SP1, it will gives "Request timed out".

         But in SP1 version, it will gives "Thread was being aborted" after processing for about 2-3minutes...

FYI, both scenarios were successfully created the media posts on the site.

 *Question: Could you please tell me what was missing? Any configuration I missed?

Thanks!

Thread being Aborted means the webserver is shuting down the website for one reason or another - this may be because CPU useage is too high, the website has been idle for too longer of your website's App Pool has gone over it's memory allowance - I suggest that you contact your host and ask them to tell you the exact reason for that error.

As for your other error, when you installed SP1, did you copy accros BOTH the files from the /web/ directory of the upgrade package into the CS's web directory, AND the contents /binaries/ into /bin/ directory in Community Server.

I'm getting this problem too, only System Administrators are immune. A solution would be greatly appreciated. Here is the stack trace received by all Trusted Users:

Yeh, well. Like an idiot I did not pay close enough attention to the title of the original post. I had not yet applied SP1 when I posted my problem. Doh. I have now applied SP1 and am waiting to see if the problem is resolved.

Most likely problem is permissions on the filestorage folder and its sub folders. Make sure that the NETWORK SERVICE and ASPNET (local machine) accounts have write permission on this folder. Actually, I've given these accounts write permission to the Web folder and this is inherited by its sub folders. I don't know what security implications this might have for a vanilla deployment, but in my case you can't log in to the CS using its own front end (I've integrated it into our Siebel application) so there is no security issue.

Can you look in hte CS exception log, (makign sure to show unhandled exceptions) and find the exception related to this error.
