Hello, I am new to CS. I would greatly appreciate any help in this area as I have blown my budget on CS and trying to customize myself.

1] How do I add pages to my site such as 'About Us' and 'Contact Us.'

2] How do I rename the blog and forum section in the navigation and UI?

3] Are there any site-wide themes out there that are available for 2008 yet? I'm looking for one that is similar to the default silver theme that is available for 2007 or one that has mainly white and silver colors

4] How do I add permissions to the media galleries?

Hello

Adding pages, hmm the easiest way for you would be to create a new 'Article'.  Then copy the URL of the article from your browsers address bar for the link.

Renaming Blog and Forum links in the navigation bar:

  • Go to [root]\Languages\en-US\
  • Find and open the file Resources.xml (right-click and 'Open with' Notepad)
  • Find (CTRL+F) the string '<!-- Main Navigation'.  In that section of the XML file you should see all of the navigation bar labels.  Including Forums and Blogs
  • It comes with a few but I guess they do not suit.  Have you tried modifying the 'Look and Feel' of a built in theme?  That's pretty much all we have done and it can look quite different. Notice I didn't say pretty ;-)
  • What type of permissions do you want to add?

Hope that gets you started.

Regards

Anthony
