Hi folks,

I am using Community Server 2007.1. I am the administrator of my own CS site.

The problem I am having is that after 30 days (or whatever number days it was), one or two post gets deleted from my Community Server. Only I have the permission to delete posts but for some reason, the posts that were posted 30 or so days ago are mysteriously disappearing one by one.

I have checked the Control Panel, the communityserver.config, and web.config files but still have no clue as to why this is happening.

Does anyone know why?

Please help.

Dave:

There used to be auto-delete, but it was removed in pre-CS2007.

The database fields are still there so you may want to ensure it's turned off just incase, the table is cs_sections, fields are EnableAutoDelete and AutoDeleteThreshold. Make sure EnableAutoDelete is set to 0.

Thanks for the info.

I have checked the database and yes, there were 1's in the EnableAutoDelete field. I have set them all to 0, so hopefully this will solve the problem.

I will have to wait a month or so to see if anymore posts are mysteriously disappearing. But I think your suggestion has solved the problem.

Thanks again.

Can you check you haven't set a filter to only show threads newer than 1 month.  You can find this in Control Panel > Administration > Site Settings > Date Time Settings > Thread Date Filter, and ensure that is set to a time period of over 1 month.

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked the Contro Panel just like you mentioned and I had it set on "Show All" on the Thread Date Filter. So, it looks like this was not the problem.

I am still clueless as to why posts are disappearing.

Is there an expiry date for posts or an auto-delete setting that I am not aware of?
