I have received an error whilst upgrading:

Upgrade fails on Step 6 - "Move existing files into centralised storage".

This is the line from the log file.

Upgrading photo galleries
5/12/2008 6:40:14 PM -- EXCEPTION: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at CommunityServer.Upgrader.FileUpgrader.UpgradePhotoGalleries()
   at CommunityServer.Upgrader.Part4.MoveFilesToCfs()

I don't think I actually have any photo galleries - not sure if this is relevant?

Thanks

It's possible you have some dangling files in your CS database. Try running the script from this blog post (http://windowscoding.com/blogs/blake/archive/2008/04/27/how-to-delete-dangling-files-from-a-community-server-database.aspx) and then re-run the upgrade and let us know the results.

Thanks for your post.  I ran the script and it said '0 rows affected'.  I have yet to try the upgrade again however would this suggest that this is not the source of the problem if no rows were deleted?

I had this same exact error.  In my case, it was that there was an error when I copied the new Web directory from 2008 into my 2007 install.  Once I redid the whole process, things worked just fine.
