Hi there.

Is it possible to get an RSS feed of posts from a blog group?

Alternatively, is there a way to show posts on a page from just a particular blog group?

I can't find blog groups referred to anywhere except /blogs/Bloggers.aspx and here there is no way to select a blog group.

I suppose I could create another blog and add mirrored feeds from the blogs I want to it, then use this feed, but this seem a little messy.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Leslie

By default, the groups links are not shown in the Hawaii theme -- but you can re-enable them:

In the Site Administration Control Panel, go to Site Content -> Customize Site Themes -> Sidebar and configure the "Blogs" widget (or add a and configure a new "Blog Group Links" widget) in the "Blog Widgets" list.  In the configuration form, check the "Current Blog Groups Homepage" checkbox.  Save the configure window and the theme configuration.

With the blog group links enabled, the sidebar of the blogs homepage will list the different blog groups -- clicking one of the groups will show only posts in that group and the sidebar RSS feed links will apply only to that group.

Thanks Ben, That's really helpful....

But now I have another problem. I'm using the windows authentication module in CS2008 and I can't use the RSS feed as I want to because the reader I'm using doesn't support authenticated feeds.

The reader in this case is the RSS web part in MOSS 2007. My first thought was to use an aspx page to connect directly to the CS database and create an RSS feed that way. Then I realised the blog post URLs are difficult to construct eg:  /blogs/blogname/archive/2008/04/30/blog-post-title.aspx

Is there a simpler way to construct the url that will also work , such as /blogs/post.aspx?id=123

 Hi Leslie!

The RSS Viewer Web Part in WSS/MOSS does not support authenticated feeds when in NTLM mode. It does, however, work in Kerberos. In NTLM mode, requets will be sent at the app pool account and therefore throw the not authorized error.

HTH!
