I'm having the same issue.  I like to upload photos for my family to look at, and each set of photos is a new gallery (currently 33 total).  I'm not seeing where there is a comparably priced version with the same flexibility, namely:

Community Server Personal / Developer Edition
Version: 3.x

  • Edition: 2
  • Branding Restrictions: Yes
  • Unique Communities: 1
  • Number of Blogs: Unlimited
  • Number of Forums: Unlimited
  • Number of Galleries: Unlimited
  • Number of Files: Unlimited
  • Number of Mirrored Feeds: Unlimited
  • Enabled Components: Points

Licences for CS2007 are not compatible with CS2008.  For users who already have CS2007 personal licences, you can upgrade that to CS2008 for $99, but you'll have to contact sales@telligent.com directly.
