Hello Smile I would like to know whether there's somebody programming an application to upload and manage files or not.

I should be making one as soon as CS goes RTM, since the API's may change, you cannot get everything as you want it

Once Community Server 2008 goes RTM, we'll be updating the forums on this site, which will likely include one related to developers and add-ons.

Thanks!

BTW, Nick - your add-on is looking pretty sweet! Smile

One is glad to be of service...

Thanks Jose.  Quick q, how do you upload files to a media post via the APIs?  Is it posible?

Good question. I tried to do it, but I don't know how to make the method call and how to fill the required data structure (or class). When I tried, all I got was an exception about a "temporal id" or something like that.

If anyone would like to test CS Media Manager you can download it from http://www.nbdev.co.uk/files/folders/other/entry3640.aspx

Any questions can go here or http://www.nbdev.co.uk/forums/44.aspx

Hello Nick! I'm trying your application.

It seems that the upload feature is not present yet. I hope there will be an option to upload the image files with the exact tags that they have in Windows Vista and another to reduce the image files to a maximum width and height.

Thanks for your work!!

The upload box is there.  If you click on a tag or gallery, you get the upload box.  It just doesn't work.

It's really only an alpha.

You can upload with tags, but u can't really load them from vista, some issues with interacting with the shell.

It doesn't do everything yet, it's more of a sample of what's to come

Ok, fixed the upload bug, it now uploads, and it also edit's.

Done some other stuff to improve the refresh rate.

You can download it from the same place as last time.  It should overwrite the file during installation.

Hey Nick Smile You are developing like crazy and it's getting very good!

Since I'm from Spain and here we've got tildes, I tested your application with some filenames and tags that had them. When I click a tag that contains tildes it shows the following error:

The rest of the other strings behave as expected.

Will have to do something about that.  lol.

Try and get it translating unicode chars or something, I'm not the best when it comes to translating things.

Hmm, need someone on XP to test the app, see wat i looks like, cause I've coded it up heavily using AERO.

Shouldn't be doing anything else to it now for a few days to get some coursework finished off.

I will try you app in Windows Vista and any other Windows platform. But only if you work to get rid of this exception when uploading files! Stick out tongue

It appears that the single file upload doesn't work. The multiple file upload throws this exception.

Maybe you will find useful that I got this one when I tried to send a file from code.

At the moment upload doesn't work period.  This is mainly due to the REST API not actually allowing uploads of Files via the API.  So I'm going to have to create a new API to handle that.

The TemoraryFileId is just not working, and I don't know why.  Can't fine the docs to work out how to do it properly.
