Hi,

I'm desparately in need of the old CS 2.1 sql scripts for ASP.NET 2.0 so that I can install a local copy of my online database for testing (I think I need cs_2.1_CreateFullDatabase.sql).  The links on this site are all dead, even though a few media pages still exist.

Since I'm on a shared GoDaddy host, I never actually had to install CS myself, so I don't have an installer or any sql scripts. (I'm kicking myself now for not downloading the old web installer when it was available...)

The problem is that I've added a custom validation control to Skin-CommentForm.ascx but it's not working at all when a page is posted without the validator's input control being specified (i.e., a malicious post trying to circumvent validation).

I cannot reproduce the issue outside of CS, no matter what I try.  In the many different attempts I've tried my control always works as it should, regardless of whether the poster includes the validation's input box or not.

I cannot debug the live issue either because:

  • When page tracing is enabled I get an exception since CS uses the same ID for multiple controls.
  • Obviously, I can't attach a debugger - which is what I'd like to do if I can get the 2.1 Sql Scripts :)
  • My GoDaddy account is so limited that I can't even get a copy of my remote database's schema using T-SQL or a client-based connection (e.g., Management Studio) and I don't want to attempt to recreate the entire CS database manually.
  • I tried installing the latest version of CS locally but I can't reproduce the issue.  Validation occurs when I submit a post without the validator's input control, as it should.

Just to be clear, I'm not claiming that a bug exists in CS 2.1, although I am suggesting that might be true - I did notice that my validation control is being created twice upon each post back, which is strange, but beyond that I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.  When a validation control is used in the template of other controls, such as Login, it works fine.  Therefore, I have to assume that my control is at fault although since I can't reproduce the issue locally or in CS 2007, I'm stuck.

If anyone could send me the files that I need I'd really appreciate it.  Please let me know if you have them.

Thanks.
