Good job everyone!  Best of luck to everyone in the voting!  Smile

Are there plans to load the themes to the http://themes.communityserver.org site and have it so users can change the themes through their profile (Profile > Site Options > Theme)?  Would be a great way for people to try out themes.

For Track 1 themes, this would simply be more of a convenience since we should be able to download any of the entries and import them via the Customize page.  This convenience might be helpful for people looking for themes and are not familiar with the import / export option though.

For Track 2 themes, this would be helpful, especially for people without access to a local CS install.  It might be a designer looking for options, a decision maker, etc. -- someone who's not a developer.

However, I do understand loading the themes to the http://themes.communityserver.org site could be an issue when an update is made.  If a service pack is released that affects theme files, then who's going to update all the themes?  I doubt you'll want to have to allocate a developer to go in there and update all of those.  Also, when CS 2008 becomes available, and the site is updated, then the themes might not work.  Speaking of which, at some point in the future, these will have to be identified as CS 2007 themes. Wink

Speaking of updates, if someone needed to update their themes for whatever reason (or to accommodate future service packs) will this be possible on the themes site?

The other thing I was wondering about, is the themes setting shared between the themes site and the main cs.org site?  If it was, I could see that as another reason to not make the option available.

Hello everyone!

In my first post here I just wanted to say thank you for giving us the opportunity to spend the last few sleepless nights approaching the deadline... Big Smile I decided to enter the contest just a few days before the deadline (much in the manner "there is nothing to lose" Smile) and, although it is extremely easy to customize Community server, it still took me a few nights to polish up the theme so that it looked satisfactory and also that all the other pages looked at least decent.

Now that I see that only 6 themes entered Track 2 contest I am really sad that I didn't go for it as I planned at first Sad. I am sure I could have reached the Top 10 there (perhaps with some luck, 7th place would be reachable Wink) while in Track 1 reaching the Top 10 will be tough.

Good luck to all the participants and may the best theme win!

Hi,

I did one of the Track 2 themes called Mira 2007.  For more details about Mira 2007, you can read the blog annoucement post, visit the Mira 2007 page or you can just download the theme.  I have also setup a demo site at http://demo.chrislotter.com/ so if you want you can also check out the demo

It's nice to see so many themes for download!  Well done to all the entrants!

Cheers

Chris

If you like to try extended Stromboli Theme for track 2 on your Community Server, please download Installation Files.

Telligent created his vote site for track 1, but my Stromboli theme  for track 1 is only the Stromboli Standard Theme.

Standard Stromboli Theme works with import of xml file only.

( example web site: http://transweb.dyndns.org:6699/cs/  [ works only if my personal webserver running])

The other Stromboli Themes was created as bundle for Track 2 only ( Stromboli Clear, Stromboli Lava and Stromboli business blue )

It will proper works with installation folder only because it has more background pictures.

If you like to run stromboli themes for track 2, then you must install it on your Web server!

This is very simple: Copy downloaded 'grfxtime' -folder to your  CS Web main directory.
readme file included
________

this is solved, thanks Smile

I was also wondering that and sent Scott a PM about it. I thought that you other guys already had received it. I've got a CS2007 license already and want to know if I can trade it for a reports-module instead? Make me like it and then I'll have to buy it with CS2008 next time.. Smile

I've not gotten anything yet in regards to the license, so unless someone else who submitted a theme says different, I don't think the licenses have been sent out yet.
