I would like to use CS2007 with an existing website that is built in ASP.  Is it possible to share the authentication status of a user in Community Server with ASP using cookies or similar?

I realise that this is sharing the auth status the opposite way than is intended.  The reason I'm looking to implement this is because the existing website doesn't have any existing registration system, so it would be best to modify CS's login and profile pages rather than code replacements.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could direct me to some documentation as how to do a similar thing except instead of going to an ASP page, we simply would like to authentincate a web project within a vurtial directory underneeth the CS project files.

I think I need the same sort of thing.

I know "classic" asp inside out and would like to use the CS cookie in my existing web site, but due to the encryption, I am unable to see any values of use (such as a username or id plus a password).

Advice welcomed Smile

You'll probably need to look at the cookie single sign on module.  You can download it at http://get.communityserver.org/download/moredownloads.aspx and request a demo licence for the module from http://get.communityserver.org/demo.aspx.

I haven't used this before but, my understanding of it is you'll create the cookie in your existing asp website and CS will interperate that as appropiate.  You can find some documentation in the download for the single sign on modules.
