As you can see, I have recently employed a team of monkeys to help me coding this project.

and give the monkeys better working conditions, I mean look at the monitor! you can't develop quality software on something that size....oh and Bananas they really like bananas, and its costing me an arm and a leg.  On top of all that they are only getting a shower once a week at the moment and only one coffee a day!

Seriously though I work on this project in my spare time and I am very grateful for your donations and support.

Oh and sorry, couldn't help myself with the version name Smile Moving on.......

So here is a screen shot of the new version of gallery manager that I am working on:

(click on image for larger version)

  • The layout has changed; the options pane is gone and you can now browse the images in CS with thumbnails!
  • You will be able to edit and remove individual images from CS.
  • Drag and drop images from your computer to any album(or with tags), and drag and drop images to different folders within CS.
  • There is a connection manager which allows you to manage multiple CS connection profiles.
  • The upload queue will stay and will become bidirectional.  Can be hidden though, since you can drag and drop.
  • I am also looking into implementing file gallery support. (I know you saw the tab Smile)

Your ideas, thoughts and rants welcome.

Cheers

Look pretty good from what I can see. How does it work with Tags as opposed to Albums? I am not using Albums just throw everything into a Gallery and Tag extensively...Any luck on reading tags in xmp yet?

It would be great if you could determine the difference between adding a file to a Tag or an Album. We've been incorrectly lead to believe they are the same thing, but you can not see a slide show based on Tags. :-( I'd like to switch back to albums, so if you can make it clear which is which that would be awesome!

Chiwi,

I am attempting to use v 1.3, but have failed to connect to my site.  I am using the url domain.com/web/photos/chiwisgalleryservice.asmx.  I am using a shared server.  Do I need to use a username and password?  If so, am I connecting through an ftp or am I connecting to my database?  Any help would be appreciated.

Did you install the gallery extension to your CS website?  What happens if your browse to chiwisgalleryservice.asmx using the web browser?

Cheers

I see a list of operations that are supported by the gallery service.  When I try to connect I get a "check url" error.

Removed the "www" from url, now I am getting a check username/password error.  What username and password should I use: frontpage, ftp, etc.?

Looking forward to the new version.

Does your current version support CS2007? Is there an easy upgrade? Will we have to wait for Chiwis CS Gallery Manager 2007? Will there be a beta?

Thanks,

-Keith

Hey Chiwi,

Any thoughts on what I need to do in order to get the Gallery Manager working?    The Gallery Service has username/password in red.  What username and password am I supposed to input (database, ftp, frontpage...)?  I uploaded the extension and see a page with several options when I type chiwisgalleryservice.asmx into the browser.

 Thanks!

I have decided that I am going to donate to Chiwi's project and I would urge all who use his software to do the same, but I would like to get a status update... just to know that it's still alive and will be released at some point in the (hopefully) near future.

Hi Whitney,

He already has it and check his web at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/csgallerytool/ and already use it.

Also check his photo gallery and I am sure we would not mine to have a nice gallery like he has:

Joe,

I understand that there is already a version availalbe.  I actively use 1.3 on my site right now.  We are talking about the 2007 version though, not 1.3
