If I try to upload a file, IE7 always crashes. The crash occurs whether I try the upload via My Files in Control Panel or the public File Gallery interface.
The crash occurs as soon as I click the Save button on the modal dialog used to specify the file. The crash only occurs if I specify a local file. It does not occur if I specify a remote file.
To make sure this wasn't a problem with my IE7 installation, I uninstalled and then re-installed IE7, including the latest updates. The crash still occurred.
If there's anything I can do to help you diagnose this problem, please let me know.
This is also the case with 2.1 SP2, after closing the modal dialog it crashes IE7. Except when you already typed in a title and descripiton for the file. Seems like the communication on setting the title causes the problem.
Are you using IE7 on XP or Vista?
I'm having trouble reproducing this issue.
Is it ocurring in the Control Panel, front UI, or both?
Does it always occur when the modal window closes after uploading a local file?
Hi Ben,
great that you are looking into the issue!I've made a screencapture so you can see and reproduce the flow.
Ýou can view it on:http://www.halluf2.nl/ScreenCaptureCSFileGallery.wmvTo workaround for me it so fill in a "Friendly Name/Description" in the upload screen. By doing this the issue does not occur.
My system (2 systems):- OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional- Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600- IE7: Version 7.0.5730.11- IE7: Build 75730- Google toolbar- CS version: 2.1.61129.2
thanks!Sander
Can others confirm this?
As far as I know, nothing has changed on the upload pages.
I am still able to make this error happen with Beta 2. Here's what I did:
Hi Sean,
I tried to reproduce the issue as you described, but it does not crash anymore. But now my CS 2.1 is working fine as well. Could it be that I deleted my cache and cookies recently? Can you please try that Sean?
In this case, I do not yet believe that has an effect upon the situation. I had deleted all my cookies while getting beta 2 to run successfully. And the actions I took were on the first or second run of the community (i.e., the cache should have been nearly empty).
I still cannot reproduce this issue (even following your steps).
Can you try to disable all of your IE7 add-ons? (I realize that you uninstalled and re-installed IE7... but I am unsure if this clears your add-ons)
My pc at work still has the same issue.
I tried disabling add-ons one by one and it turned out "IE DevToolBar BHO" was the troublemaker. Sean, do you have the IE developer toolbar installed?
Deleting cache and cookies and re-installing the IE Developer Toolbar did not fix the problem...

Are you saying that the IE DevToolbar needs to be uninstalled and then upgraded?
