how to have different users with same email address

i have a site that needs to allow different users with the same email address. at the moment it throws a "MembershipCreateUserException: The E-mail address is already in use" error. How can i get around this?

Find the membership provider entry in web.config and set the requiresUniqueEmail attribute to "false". Have never tried this myself, but that should allow users to register with duplicate email addresses.
