I simply watched it.
The video ends with Jayson showing this empty page, saying that no feeds have been pulled yet but will... but the page is still empty:

Does that mean it never worked? Does that mean it used to work but does not now?
After watching the video and not seeing a successful ending, I do not have any way of knowing if the video had the correct steps or not.
But I do know that (other than creating a new blog group and new blog) I did the same steps myself already and had the same apparent result: no feeds ever pulled in.
I may have forgotten one step (it's optional). If you created a new blog you'll need to enable that content to be shown on the main aggregate by going to
cp -> admin -> blogs click blogs, then click edit for the blog you want to manage (assuming you set up a new blog for your mirrored content which I recommend). Make sure the Include in community aggregate is set to yes. Otherwise you can navigate directly to your mirrored content blog; the URI is listed on that page in the URL box, i.e. in my case it's blogs/feeds (which means you'll need to actually go to blogs/feeds/default.aspx, mine is here: http://jaysonknight.com/blogs/feeds/default.aspx, you'll see that all the CS.org blogs are showing up, which is the example I used in the screencast). You can then add a new tab to your CS installation that points to that URL and it'll show up in your site header. Maybe I'll create an addendum to my video for this.
Not extremely intuitive, but once you click through it makes a bit more sense.
EDIT: I went ahead and added a new tab to my site called External News. From my blog page it's on the far right, all other pages it's on the top nav bar.

Jayson already knows this, because he's been helping me all evening, but for the record, my problem was due to the scheduled jobs not running.
I had 3 CS installations sharing an Application Pool, the jobs were only running for 1 of the installs. I pulled one out and that solved the problem there.

Yes,
It's recommended to have an Application Pool per website because each site has a collection of jobs that run on single thread so if you don't use own Application Pool for a site, you'll get some problems with jobs. This also depends on your Application Pool configuration.
I'm still struggling with the blog mirroring set up
- I've created a new blog called 'External Feeds'
- I've added a mirror feed to it.http://feeds.feedburner.com/tamiyablogcom polling every 60 minutes. Aggregate in Site blog roll and assigned blog both ticked.
- In the 'External Feeds' blog, all the radio buttons are set to YES
But its bin there for two days now and nothing has appeared anywhere, either in the aggregated screen or if I visit the blog itself.
Am I just missing something?

Check your CS Event Logs for any errors relating to failed content pulls and we'll go from there.
I can't see anything in that report. I've got a feeling from reading other threads that the job might just not be running for some reason?

This whole thing could really use more documentation.
I'm having the same trouble. dbo.cs_BlogActivityNightlyJob is running; is there a different SQL Job or OS service I should be looking at?
I got it working. Even though the feed looked good IE, I guess something was wrong with it. The site had a couple different links for RSS feeds, I tried another one, and it seems to work now.
I searched Jayson's blog for that screencast, but can't seem to find it. I'm really looking for the most basic information on how to set up a mirrored blog. I found some screenshot on communityserver.com that showed a picture of a "Mirror" tab, somewhere underneath blog administration, but for the life of me I can't locate it. I'm guessing I have some core functionality toggled off that prevents me from getting to that function.
Can anyone suggest a resource for basic info on how to set this up? I was imagining that there is a simple GUI for setting up a mirrored blog, plug in an RSS feed and go. I can see from other posts that there may be some more tricky configuration settings around polling etc., but I'm looking for Step 1.

The documentation for this, at least with 2007, is wanting. I have not looked at the 2008 documentation. Sorry I can't help much; it basically took me trial and error to get it to work.

Naturally, 5 minutes after posting a plea for help I found exactly what I was looking for, oh and right were it belongs. The basic set up info is reasonably well documented in the CS 2008 Blog Administration guide... duh. All I had to do was click edit on the blog I wanted to augment with an external feed and all of the UI was right there.
I still haven't seen any of the external data successfully pulled yet... but I'm hopeful.
