Since upgrading to CS 2.0 the boss and I have had a wee chat about how to implement our galleries.
In CS 1.1 we had up to 3 individual galleries per user (public photos, private photos and "special" photos ) but as you can imagine managing 3 galleries x number of users would be crazy whenever an upgrade of CS took place.
So, we tried to use albums but I have security and quota concerns about them.
Onto the questions:
1) Albums - is it possible to make an album "owned" by anyone? ie stop others from posting into your album and from deleting your images.
2) Anyone with "manage content" permissions can delete albums or drag pictures from album to album, is this correct?
3) Can you make albums visible only to certain users?
Thanks and regards in advance.
An album is just a category... well in fact, going forward (CS2.1 and beyond) its actually a "Tag"... there is no security information associated with it, its just an attribute of the photo (like the title)... A picture can exist in more than one album at a time (or no album at all)...
In the galleries, we had implemented the categories in that nice little tree-view to show a hierarchy... but I would expect to see a tag cloud view coming soon...
Of course the big rub with three galleries, is that we don't let you transfer images between galleries, and managing them by switching in the CP is sort of a pain...
