For some reason that escapes me I can't get my email working in CS2008? I receive the following exception each time. What's the deal. I'm pretty sure I have the correct settings on CS. What am I missing here? Is there something on my server I need to open up or change?
User Agent: Path: as HTTP Referrer: Message: SendMessage Failed To: XXXXX@absolutepigskin.com System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required. I remember having some problems getting CS to send mail through google mail in CS2007, and haven't tried again for CS2008. I'd suggest that if your webhost offers you a SMTP server, you use your webhost's smtp server to send email (typically your settings will be localhost without a username and password, but this can vary). This also avoids errors about google mail not allowing you to "relay" emails.

Are you trying to send email through the smtp server provided with google apps mail? From the exception it looks like your trying to send email through an smtp server that requires authentication and either your not providing it, or your providing the wrong details. If you can confirm what your trying to do and the settings you have for the smtp server in CS I'll take a look
