We recently upgraded from CS 2 to CS 2008. Many of the blog posts that existed prior to the upgrade included images, but when we upgraded, the images now show up in their native size, which means we see about 1/3 of the picture before it gets cut off on the edge of the screen. I know we can specify an image size for any new images we insert, but is there a good way to batch resize all of the overgrown images? It's going to be an awful lot of work to go through 2 years worth of posts and manually resize each one.

Does anyone have an idea on this? I'm sure we're not the only ones who have used the upgrade tool, and unless everyone's images were small to begin with, I'm guessing we're not the only ones who ran into this problem. Any suggestions would be nice.

All blog post attachments are stored in the ~/filestorage/CommunityServer.Blogs.Components.WeblogFiles/ directory.  If you then find an app that will resize all pictures in that directory (and sub directories) according to some rules (e.g. max height 600px, max width 800px) that should do the trick (usual procedures of backing up before you attempt that apply).

I guess I'll figure something out, then.

If you want to try the suggestion afcrome posted, Adobe Fireworks will do batch resizing exactly like what he describes. You can download a 30-day trial from Adobe so you won't be out anything.
