Hey Guys,

I can see where you are coming from with CFS, but not being able to store objects in the database and then cache them on the file system is a MAJOR issue.  I can't see any reason why this option was removed.  The idea of using a SAN and file shares completely breaks any kind of failover if the single file store goes down.  I sincerely hope that this is being reconsidered as I have one client who has lost a few of the files from the ~/filestorage folder and now they are totally screwed.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill, You should still take a look in your cs_PostAttachments table. As far as I can tell, files are still being written here - at least the post attachment content, which includes media gallery uploads.

Hey Gabe,

I think some of that is just left over from stuff that wasn't cleaned up and in most cases the image fields are actually empty.  While some objects may or may not actually be stored in the database (I know for a fact that Avatars no longer are), there is no way to get the objects out of the database and onto the file system.  All of that syncronization code no longer exists, so it is useless to you unless you write an application to extract the objects and place them wherever they belong on the file system.

Take it asy,
Bill
