 I have recently published a blog and as part of the settings during I have selected 'Yes' to the following:

Can readers rate posts
Rating enables a reader to use stars to rate the value of a post

This seemed to be reletively striaght forward however, when the blog is published there is no rating feature. I have now tried this on numerous occasions to make sure that I have not made any obvious error(s) but I always get the same result - No Rating.

Is anyone able to explain what might be causing this setting not apply to my blog?

Hi Colin

Are you using the Hawaii theme for your blog? I just tested it on my site..changing the theme to Calypso (or any other theme) seems to work. It seems like the Hawaii theme doesn't support the rating..which would be quite strange;

If you can confirm you are also using Hawaii, I'll investigate a bit further.

I don't think Hawaii is the problem theme - this is in the CS2007 forum after all Wink.

Firstly, for a user to rate a blog post, the user accessing the page must be logged in.  Then the user should see some stars next to the title of hte blog post, by hovering over the stars, the user can rate the post on a scale of 1-5, clicking to finally rate their post.

If you don't see the stars could you confirm which blog theme you're using, as the previous poster said, so we can investigate further.

Hi Andrevs,

I can confirm the the blog is currently set to use the Hawaii theme. Odd that it may not support the star rating??

I never noticed it until you mentioned it...I use Hawaii as site theme but most of my blogs are using other themes. (which supports the rating).

I'll try to check it out over the weekend...but it is probably just the CS control which should be added to the Hawaii Blog Theme....afscrome might also be able to help on this.

I'm pretty sure I saw Ben acknowledge this issue in the Bugs and Issues forum for CS08, and it should be included in the next Service Pack for C2008 (SP1) which is currently installed on this website so may be coming soon?

In that case lets wait for the service pack...should be released anytime now if it is already used on this site
