Alex,

I don't know exactly what you mean! I try to make the email system works for my site such as email to recovery the user's passwords.

Thank you for helping me.

Out of the box, CS sends emails through a task running in the background of CS.  The problems with this are if the site shuts down, the tasks can't run as they also get shut down.

As an alternative, there is a Tasks Server which allows you to run tasks in an application running on the server.  This has the benefit of allowing tasks to be run on only one server, and regardless of whether CS is active or not.

I'd have thought you were using hte first method, however you said you tried Dan's instructions which would suggest you're using the second.  Which method are you using?

After upgrade to CS 2008.5 the email still doesn't work and when I read Dan blog I follow his method but nothing change. So both method do not work for me.

My site hosted on Godaddy and the email works well with CS 2007.

Thanks,

Hello,

The email system is now working well on my site. I had a stupid mistake when both using Task Service and the background email job. After removing the Task Service, email works well for CS 2008.5

Thanks Alex for having tried to help me,
