Is it possible to eliminate the requirement that registered members of a site must request membership to public groups w/ open membership in order to interact in the group?  Since they would automatically be granted membership anyway, it would be nice to be able to avoid the need for extra clicks.

Thx!

Only members can interact within groups.  That said, you could implement some custom code that would automatically make registered users who visit a group members of the group.

That could result in a very large membership list for the group, but it would be neccessary to use groups as they are implemented in the way that you described.

Thx Ben!

If we implement the required code... is there an upper limit in regards to the quantity of memberships groups can handle?  Should this issue be taken into consideration in our site design?  (i.e. would using a separate forum & media gallery be more robust than wrapping certain subject matter in a group)  We're building on 2008 professional licenses.

Thx again!
