I'm still trying to upgrade my CS2008 beta 1 site to beta 2 or RC1 and keep being hit with the following error:
29/03/2008 2:25:16 PM -- Upgrading user avatars29/03/2008 2:25:17 PM -- Upgrading avatar for user id 210029/03/2008 2:25:17 PM -- EXCEPTION: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at CommunityServer.Avatars.UpdateAvatar(Int32 userID, Stream postedFile) at CommunityServer.Upgrader.FileUpgrader.UpgradeAvatars() at CommunityServer.Upgrader.Part4.MoveFilesToCfs()
I tired it multiple times with CS2008b1 and now RC and no luck, any help would be much appreciated because i dont want to rebuild the entire site!
I'm not able to reproduce the error, but I've surrounded this piece of code in a try/catch block to log the exception and user ID of the avatar that caused the error, and then it will move onto the next avatar in the list. This should at least allow the upgrader to continue and you'll have the list of un-upgraded avatars in the log file.
It would also be nice to get a copy of your database so that we can reproduce the error to find the root cause. Ping me offline if that's a possibility. Also, ping me offline if you'd like the updated upgrade tool to test the fix.
