HI,
I am using Community Server non-commercial edition.
I have a gallery inside which I am having multiple albums with multiple images in each album.
In the server, all the images are stored in the gallery folder under which the albums are created.
I would like the images be uploaded to thier respective albums which has their own physical folders under the physical gallery folder as shown below. Is this possible ?
Gallery 1||-Album 1| |-Image 1| |-Image 2| |-Image 3||-Album 2| |-Image 1| |-Image 2| |-Image 3

You would need to customize the CS core; although this is not really advisable, since the entire file storage subsistem is being redone for CS2008
If you are interested in making this custom change, let me know and I can point you at the appropriate locations to look.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for replying,Does the CS 2008 has the feature I have requested ?
If that is the case then I can very well wait for the next version and do a upgrade or clean install. Else I guess I have to modifiy the core.

No, not exactly, in CS 2008 we have extracted file storage into a true provider, which now has support for local, as well as remote file storage services (such as Amazon S3)... Actually in CS 2008, we merged photo gallery and file gallery, so you will have a "Media Gallery" this changes how we work with "albums" in general; you would be able to write a custom file storage provider to get close to what you are looking for.
Dan,
Will 2008 be able to support tags and albums at the same time?

Can you provide more insight on how I could proceed to implement the custom storage provider so that I can use my own folder based hierarchy.
