Hello,

I am considering creating a community based on CS. I have some DotNetNuke experience and am just now digging into the details of CS.

I'd like to make sure that my users use their real names (or at least names that look real) ala www.yelp.com. For the community I'm building, I think this measure will limit the nutty off-topic and inflamatory discussions because people won't be hiding behind a handle like "bigbadstud69".

Ideally, I'd like CS to automatically set the display name for a user to First Name + Last Initial. So, if the user registered with first name Jeff and last name Waterson, their username would automatically show up as "Jeff W" wherever they make forum replies or blog posts.

Now, certainly there will be more than one "Jeff W" in this scenario, and I'm ok with that. I think it works quite nicely in yelp even though there are lots of duplicate usernames. In fact, that might even inspire users to fill out their profiles and upload an avatar to help differentiate themselves.

I'm not sure how this would impact the actual login name you use in CS, though. Is it possible to automatically set their login name to their email address? That's how yelp does it as well.

Appreciate any thoughts or guidance on all of this in CS.

I'd also be interested in an answer to Jeff's question...

Cheers,
