Hi all,

So far, CS 2007 is looking great - very nice job Telligent!

I'm trying to configure a Blog homepage to show only excerpts, with read more blurbs at the bottom. I looked in the Blogs forum and found directions, but they don't seem to apply to CS2007 - am I right in thinking something has changed? If so, any clues?

Thanks,

Jeff

Wherever you find a WeblogPostData control rendering the FormattedBody property, such as:

<CSBlog:WeblogPostData Property="FormattedBody" runat="server" />

you can change it to

<CSBlog:WeblogPostData Property="Excerpt" runat="server" /> <CSBlog:WeblogPostData LinkTo="Post" Text="Read More" runat="server" />

This will cause the excerpt to be displayed.  If no excerpt was defined, an excerpt will be genered using the post's body/formattedbody.

Perfect! I tried it, and it worked beautifully.

 Thanks for the quick reply, and the great info.

I'm also just moving to CS 2007 and this did the trick for me.  Thanks Ben.

In the interest of teaching me how to fish.  Is there documentation on this sort of thing?  i.e. How would I have figured this out on my own?  I pulled down the Chameleon chm file but neither Formattedbody nor Excerpt are in there.  Any pointers on how I can learn more about the capabilities in CS 2007.

Thanks,
Ben
