Are there any plans for adding a wiki module as part of the CS2007 release?

I have not heard anything official on this but I do know that there was an add in built by a community member for CS 2.1 but it requires full trust to run. I am sure they will create a new build for CS 2007.

I will drop the link in this thread when I find it for the site that you can download the wiki for 2.1.

Info about the CS Wiki can be found here

Hi,

Just wondering is there was any further news on a true CS Wiki? We evaluating CS and an integrated wiki, complete with linkage into the Member Point System is a key to our vision of our community.

Thanks!

I expect someone from Telligent might respond. I spoke with people in sales earlier in October and a Wiki is not going to be part of the CS 2008 release. THey are focusing on other features. I was told there might be a possibility of late 2008 or that it simply might not be a feature they are going to develop. I asked about the current Wiki that they are using for their documentation and was told that it is not production ready. If you have a need for a Wiki feature now, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the update on this.

I know there are some big plans for C/S 2008 but can't help but wonder what could be bigger than a truly integrated wiki which brings to mind a bigger question. I've hunted around and really can't say I've seen anything that would resemble a "road map" for C/S looking forward. Have you encountered it?

Should I just call sales?

Thanks,

Dale

Dale, there 's been a lot posted about future directions -

 http://communityserver.org/blogs/announcements/archive/2007/07/25/road-map-update-for-cs2007-and-cs2008.aspx

 http://communityserver.org/blogs/announcements/archive/2007/10/16/upcoming-changes-to-community-server-2008.aspx

Telligent is clearly going after the social networking space and a Wiki is not in their plan. I am curious as to why they didn't do a survey of current customers to find out directions, or maybe they did and I missed it. Anyway,  the Wiki is out unless you want to pay Telligent to custom code it for you.

Hi All I will try and get more detailed info but the plan is spring for the wiki and I believe it will be a stand alone application much as it is now on our docs.communityserver.org and also you should be able to integrate it with Community Server membership.

Again I will ask for more official details but I wanted to make sure people understood that a wiki is coming.

Hey Rick,

Thank you, that's wonderful! And thank you for coming back with this answer - even if it had been a "no we are not planning the wiki"...
