I believe that I have the mail gateway application installed properly: it runs.  I can find no configurations however that will allow it to connect to my email service.

Our network administrators permit (for IMAP) only SSL or TLS connections to the public email server and only through a specific port (443).  Our Mail Gateway error logs reveal that a connection attempt is being made on port 143.  So far, I have not found a way to configure the mail gateway to respect these requirements.  In addition to IMAP, I have tried POP3 connections; also without success.

For IMAP--

A typical error message from Receivers_error.log is:

Message: Unable to connect to server mail2.####.###.### at  port 143. Verify the server exists and is able to accept an IMAP connection. Additional information : A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

A typical error message from Processor_errors.log is:

Message: Access to Message Queuing system is denied.

For POP3--

A typical error message from Receivers_error.log is:

Message: Unable to contact the POP3 server, or an invalid response was recieved. The underlying exception reported: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

A typical error message from Processor_errors.log is:

Message: Access to Message Queuing system is denied.

Can anyone suggest a workaround?
