Anyone attempt to add ads to the RSS feeds coming from their Community server site? I was thinking about doing this, and wondered if any has done it and cared to share some tips?

I've not even looked into it, primarily because my users are largely non-technical and very very few will even know what an RSS reader is. However I expect over the longer term it will become more used and I'll be looking into this.
I believeI read somewhere that AdSense is trialing a new service (a now-closed beta) to provide contextual advertising in RSS feeds, so I'll probably give that a go as it's pretty easy.

Yeah I tried signing up, but they aren't taking any one right now. I heard that longhornblogs has a custom CS control that did it at one time, but they don't have ads in the feeds now.
guess i will keep looking
thanks for the reply ollie
Snag yourself a CS Tidbit!
Actually, I rewrote the CS 1.1 RSS handlers to use a provider-based approach to outputting feeds. Kind of like the CSModules, only using the .NET 2.0 provider model architecture. Then I just registered all the transformation providers I wanted to use (had one for the ads, had one prototyped for Attachment support, etc) and it fired all the providers for each entry that was created.
Haven't had a chance to apply that setup to CS 2.0 yet, but I will be soon. As soon as I have something working, I'll decide whether I want to be generous, or make a profit .
