A couple of folks have begun to notice The Hive and have been asking how to build a hive-like video gallery on the Community Server forums. In this week's spotlight, I figured I'd answer some of those questions.

Tonight I published an article giving a brief overview of the Member Points System (MPS) and detailing how to set it up on your site. I hope to publish another article soon that dives a bit deeper into how to extend it.

Last night (Sunday, May 21st) http://weblogs.asp.net/ was updated to Community Server version 2.1.

This was a long overdue update, but it brings some great new features and capabilities (such as search and tags) to the site. We've also done a lot to make the content optimized for search engines.

In addition to other small bug fixes, earlier this week I checked in a change that folks have been asking for, for quite some time. In CS 2.1, admins will have the ability to change a member's username. Now I know that some people want to be able to change their own username, but for now we're limiting it to administrators. The code is all in there, so when it comes time for release, you'll be able to tweak the source yourself, and set the minimum permissions required. Then...

For the past couple of months, I've been primarily focused on client work in regards to CommunityServer. So, while still part of the core development team, I haven't had many check-ins or bug fixes.
